Après avoir exploré le monde de l’architecture d’intérieure et du design d’édition, Hugo Danneels et Julie Figueroa Zafiro fondent en 2021 Danneels + Zafiro, un studio de création et atelier d’ébenisterie dédié à la conception de mobilier, luminaires et objets d’art.

À travers le bois brûlé, le bois sculpté et le travail des textures, ils développent une pratique située à la croisée du design, de l’artisanat d’art et d’une approche sculpturale de l’objet, donnant naissance à des pièces uniques, petites séries et projets sur mesure.

Aujourd’hui, leur recherche explore la rencontre entre matières et savoir-faire artisanaux : Le bois dialogue avec le cuir, le crin de cheval, le métal ou l’albâtre dans des compositions où contrastes et textures révèlent la singularité de chaque matériau.

After exploring the world of interior architecture and design, Hugo Danneels and Julie Figueroa Zafiro founded Danneels + Zafiro in 2021, a creative studio and workshop dedicated to the design and making of furniture, lighting and sculptural objects.

Through charred wood, carved wood and a deep exploration of texture, they have developed a practice that sits at the intersection of design, craftsmanship and sculptural expression, creating unique pieces, limited editions and bespoke commissions.

Today, their work explores the meeting point between materials and craftmanship. Wood is combined with leather, horsehair, metal and alabaster in compositions where contrast and texture reveal the distinctive character of each material.
